About Gregory Douglass

Gregory Douglass' evocative pop sound blends “Rufus Wainwright’s opulent musicality and Justin Timberlake’s accessible soulfulness” (OUT Magazine).

Originally hailing from Vermont, NPR’s Morning Edition has coined him “one of New England’s best-kept secrets.”

Now based in Palm Springs, CA, Gregory is an internationally acclaimed recording artist with ten (10) original studio albums independently released today.

Gregory’s song “Alibis” was featured in season one of Netflix original series The Rain in 2019, which sparked a fast-growing international following of his music.

He has shared the stage with artists including Grace Potter, Jason Mraz, They Might Be Giants, Regina Spektor, Shawn Colvin, Patty Griffin, and Anais Mitchell (Hadestown), among others.

A fully independent self-taught musician, Gregory has been managing his own music career and inspiring audiences for over two decades now.

He’s taught hundreds of songwriting students the art of his signature  Intuitive Songwriting process, and his inspirational articles have been featured on Mike Dooly’s TUT.com blog, NationWide Disc’s Source, and PledgeMusic.

Now, he’s teamed up with Patreon to help fix what’s currently broken in the industry – a reliable stream of income for artists and creators.

“I believe artist membership models like Patreon are on the right path to the future of creative sustainability. Music sales have plummeted but the expenses required to create and release new music remain the same. Artists cannot sustain their craft today without the vital support of their fans.”

Gregory’s own patrons funded his Live From The Chapel project – a live album and video “rockumentary” concert. Every song from his album My Hero, The Enemy was performed live at The Chapel in San Francisco, CA specifically for this project.

Gregory has also been the voice of multiple collaborations with European deep house DJs like Humans Out Loud and Yves Eaux. He’s even been the voice of Karen Carpenter now and again in his tribute concerts to the Carpenters alongside Michael Orland (former musical director of American Idol).

With new original music in development, Gregory’s forthcoming album is a stirring, emotional collection of chamber-pop songs – blending piano, vocals and strings with his provocative signature songwriting.
