GRACE POTTER & THE VOCAL CHAMBER OF SECRETS:
You're probably preparing to head back to school while I prepare for another college gig season and once again, the end of summer is here. Meanwhile, I'm in the throws of final mixing and things are getting pretty... tedious. I think it's safe to say at this point that I never want to hear these songs again. That is to say, I've been living with these songs since the winter of 07/08 so they are far from new and exciting to me at this point – and just think, I have at least six months longer before the album release and before any of these songs are new to you! (I know, it's a rough life I lead...) Conversely, I have never felt as positive about a collective project as I do with this album and everyone involved has contributed so much inspiration and energy thus far. I'm excited to start lining up the GD promotional team for this album and the extended timeline I've created for the release will hopefully afford me a much better chance at creating a good buzz for it!

Just to reiterate, I have kept careful documentation of the entire recording process and I will continue to release the video blogs in "real time" – your real time that is, not mine – so that you don't get too impatient between now and the actual release of the album in early 2009... There is a lot to be done in the promotional department and most things need lots of lead time which is why I am finishing up the album much further in advance than the release date. I am however planning to start reaching out for pre-orders soon and one of the incentives for pre-ordering will be to receive a copy before the holidays so please keep an eye out for that! RETRO ACTIVE : VOLUME 2 IS NOW AVAILABLE ON iTUNES!
I've finally finished up Volume 2 of the Retro Active series and it's now officially available on iTunes! "Retro Active : Volume 2" is a collection of b-side songs recorded between 2006-2007, including a few cover songs. Each volume of this "Official Bootleg Series" will contain live recordings of past shows and/or b-sides from previously unreleased recordings. "Retro Active : Volume 1" (August, 2007) is a live recording from Eddie's Attic in Decatur, GA. The entire "Retro Active" series is a digital bootleg series and will be available exclusively online from places like iTunes (not available in print). You can expect to see more volumes released fairly regularly so please check back often!
